The history of Reserve Township is one of monumental changes. When Reserve Township was
founded in 1835 it encompassed almost all of the territory that is now the North Side of the city of Pittsburgh. The Township is now much smaller in size and surrounded by the city of Pittsburgh on the
South, West and North and the Borough of Millvale and Ross Township on the East and North. In compiling and writing the History of Reserve Township we have endeavored to document the changes in size
and demographics and the rational for both. We have also attempted to document the businesses, organizations, institutions and its government. We have also included in our efforts the people who lived and
worked and created the changes that make our history unique. Our efforts are ongoing. What happened today is tomorrow's history. So the story is never ending. The tremendous volume of material we have
collected cannot be placed in its entirety on this web site. Therefore we have presented here only the high lights of our history for your viewing. The full extent of our collection will be made
available to the public in the not too distant future. Please enjoy what we offer and if you have any information to add contact us. |
